WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

Every morning we have a choice in how we are going to spend the day (unless you're in prison, and even then you have a choice about your attitude). We make all kinds of choices: What we wear; where we live; where we work; who we hook up with; and what we do with our time. Our choice. And when it comes to who we are, we have a choice about that, too. No other opinion really matters. That is if you really want to be happy. What if everyone made choices to like themselves, like what they did, and liked everyone they came in contact with? What if we chose not to invent negative scenarios about ourselves, would they exist? Probably not. Perhaps we should choose to be happy with whatever comes our way, focusing on the positive things that happen throughout the day. I believe if we think about good, we will be.

"QUEEN OF THE WEEK"

ROBIN JOHNSON

Where do you live?

RJ I reside in Castro Valley, CA that’s in the San Francisco bay area.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

RJ I am a wife and proud mother of two daughters. I work as a senior property manager. I serve on two boards and work endless hours of Community Service.

Are you a traditionally published or Indie author?

RJ My book was published by Tate Publishing Co.

What are your hobbies?

RJ I love to travel, the theater, spending time with family, party planning and scrap booking.

Tell us about your current book. What was your inspiration?

RJ "Say it Proud"…provides families with a short ritual to start their day with a positive outlook and the reminder that children have limitless potential. The power of transforming negative thoughts into a positive daily affirmation is beneficial habit that children can apply throughout their lives. Affirmations such as ‘I am a winner’ and ‘I have special talents’ will help children to stay positive even during their tough days. Other affirmations like ‘I am an amazing child of God’ and ‘God loves me’ will remind children that God cherishes them. I began reciting daily with my daughters when my youngest was five years old. These affirmations gave my daughters faith, self-esteem, confidence, self-worth, and amazing strength. I saw them blossom from this practice before my very eyes.   I looked for a children’s book of 365 daily affirmations to give to my niece and I was not able to find one so, that and my daughters testimonial was my inspiration to write.

How did you become a writer? When did you start?

RJ Well, I had a message that I wanted to get out in the form of a book. I started writing only a few years ago for this book. I have always kept a journal.

How long did it take you to finish your first book?

RJ It took 8 months to finish "Say it Proud…Daily Affirmations for Children".

Where do you like to write?

RJ I generally write at night…in my bed propped up with pillows.

Favorite author(s)?

RJ Toni Morrison is my favorite author.

How many books have you written, so far? Do you plan to write more?

RJ  "Say it Proud" is the only book I have written so far. I am working on my second book for teens.

Would you like to share a link where we can purchase your books?

RJ Sure. https://www.wepay.com/shop/view/941551

What about a link to your website?

RJ www.sayitproud.org

CONSIDER HOPE...

There was once a man named Joel who wanted to learn to sing more than anything in the world! When he began singing once in a while for the church services, people cringed at his voice. Get the hook, they thought. (I thought so, too.) Joel was undaunted and spent time and money on voice lessons, learning technique and practicing in the evenings after work . He sang several more times and after a few months, something started to happen: He got better! Finally, one Sunday morning, Joel got up to sing, confident and smiling! The song was perfectly sung. No one cringed. I was amazed! I knew this man had hope that one day, he would be able to sing praises to God. Hope gives you wings to believe in accomplishing your dreams and goals. I hope to be a good writer one day. What do you hope for, my friends? May your day be blessed!

HAVE COURAGE...

Ever have one of those days where you feel beaten down, deflated and have no energy? We all do. Besides getting some good food and rest, the only thing we can do is tell ourselves that we'll get back up on the horse tomorrow and try again. Most of the time our off days are related to bad weather or brain drain from over work. Isn't the word "tomorrow" lovely? Wishing all of you the courage to forget about the bad days and move into the good ones. Blessings on all of you, my friends.

FIRST THING YOU DO...

If you're feeling overwhelmed right now (like me) with all you have to do to get where you want to go, it's time to stop, take a deep breath and have a one-on-one with yourself. Without a road map or a GPS you are never going to get anywhere, so decide where you want to go and get directions. Here's what I'm going to do first thing this morning:

*Dig out everything I need to do and make a general task list. (I feel better already!) This takes the hidden stress that makes you feel so miserable and puts it on a piece of paper (or my iPhone list) so you can see the tasks and begin to tackle them in order of importance.
*I make two lists: one for my day job (chores and errands) and one for my writing career (the work I like to do).

Now I'm ready with my road map in hand. I'm looking forward to the trip now, because I know that by putting action to my goals I will succeed. Anyone can do this. Just decide to. Best of luck to all of you!
