UP ABOVE THE WORLD SO HIGH

I really believe one can find a life enriching experience no matter where you are--even at 30,000 feet in the air. Now, I'm not saying that all flights have such colorful travelers as in the photo, but there are so many lovely people to talk to when you fly! Today I talked with a hydrologist, whose wife was an environmental scientist, and who lives in homes in Colorado and Key West. By asking him to tell me about who he was, I got to enjoy three other people's lives by listening to what they did, their educational backgrounds, what they believed and what they liked to read. And in the process, my new acquaintance told me of his ski rental home and I told him about the books I write. We exchanged cards and e-mails and before we knew it, our plane had landed. It was lovely! And so was being served tomato juice by a handsome flight attendant. Have a lovely evening, friends.

  1. That's one thing I need to do, it take the time to really listen to others! I'm working on this! Thanks for the reminder!!

    Keep focused!
