R.I.P.
Here's a question for you: If you were to die right now, what would people remember about you?I asked myself that question and decided to become a novelist so my books would count as some achievement. Now, I'm too busy to even ask such a question!I believe our happiness comes, not from others, but from within ourselves. What are you doing to contribute to the world? I would really like to hear from you!Have a lovely day, my friends.
I think that my family and friends will remember me writing, rather than remembering the end product of all that work. My children will remember me hunched over my laptop frantically typing or staring out into space trying to think of the perfect word. Hopefully, they'll also remember the advice I've given them about being true to themselves, being tolerant of others' differences, and honoring the blessings they've been given. It's okay if the rest of the world forgets me, though - my writing (and sharing it) is really for my own edification, so as long as I've achieved my dream, I'm already luckier than most people.
Beautifully stated, Elizabeth. I like your point of view very much, especially your insight about being remembered writing and not necessarily being published. Thank you for sharing your thoughts today. Your children are fortunate to have you for their mother!
