MIND DECOR
Writing a novel is like doing a painting. That's one of mine on the right. I think of the pages as a
blank canvas upon which I create an unfolding story. But instead of
oils, I use words, phrases, dialogue and narratives. And just as a
painting is judged whether someone likes it or not, a book is judged in a
similar way. A reader either gets into the story right away, or after
reading a few pages decides they're not interested. I'm no different. It
used to take me three to six hours to paint a painting. It takes me a
minimum of six months to write a book. A painting decorates a space; a
book decorates a mind. I write so readers will decorate their minds with lovely experiences, mostly. But life isn't perfect now, is it?
