MY MOM "THE BAG LADY"

The truth is out: My mom is a "bag lady." And I couldn't be more proud of her. Once a month she takes her turn setting up the lunch sacks for the homeless shelter in her community. Other volunteers make the sandwiches and fill the  sacks with lunch items for those who are hungry...and waiting. Her friends call out, "Is the bag lady ready for our sandwiches?" She answers without hesitation, "You betcha, I'm ready!" May we all fill our days not only will self-fulfillment, but with volunteering in our community somehow...somewhere. If we can't donate time, we can donate money. Cheers to all you good people who do! Blessings on your day!

P.S. YUM! My author friend, Jerry Guarino has just published his latest story anthology entitled, "40 Slices of Pizza." I think you'll enjoy his unique style of writing as much as I do.

Want a Blessing?

Checking the messages on the answering machine after being gone for almost two weeks, we heard from dear friends we haven't seen for several years. They just wanted to visit awhile and wish us a Merry Christmas. It was a lovely thing to do. We decide to touch bases with those we love, not by Facebook or email, by phone. The calls didn't take that long and after talking to friends and loved ones, my husband and I felt all warm and fuzzy inside. I suppose that's what you get when you simply reach out and let someone know they're important. It is a lovely thing to do. Happy New Year's Eve!
